Last season’s fuel leads to machine not starting

Q: I forgot to drain the fuel out of my machine at the end of last year and now it won’t start. What can I do?

A: This is a very common problem with seasonal equipment. A few options:

– Run a spray fuel reconditioner into the engine (contact us for product details) to see if that will work. If there hasn’t been a lot of fuel breakdown, there is a good chance this will solve the problem.

– If a fuel reconditioner doesn’t work, schedule a service appointment with your local dealer to clean out the carburetor, drain fuel, and perform necessary maintenance.

– If you would like to rebuild the carburetor and drain the fuel system yourself, you will need to replace some small, intricate parts. Click here to use our free parts lookup or contact us here for additional assistance.
