How to Lubricate the Cables on a Toro 20332 Lawn Mower – Using Seafoam Deep Creep DC14

The grass is growing and it’s not going to cut itself, so your lawn mower needs to be prepped and ready to mow. It is normal for your walk behind lawn mower to have an issue or two that needs fixing over time. While it’s important to fix issues when they arise, it’s also important to performance maintenance on your mower when no issue is present. A little maintenance, such as lubricating the cables on your Toro walk behind lawn mower, goes a long way. Here’s how to lubricate the cables on a Toro 20332 lawn mower, using Seafoam Deep Creep DC14.

Before performing any repair or maintenance on your mower, please follow these safety precautions: shut off the lawn mower engine and allow it to cool, disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.

To carry out this task, you’ll need a can of penetrating lube – Seafoam deep creep.

To lubricate the cables on a Toro 20332 lawn mower using Seafoam Deep Creep DC14, turn the mower until the back of the machine is facing you. There are two places on the cable where you need to apply the Seafoam penetrating lube. One is on the bottom of the cable, in the entrance, and the other area is right on top.

When using the Seafoam, make sure you have the red straw attached to your can. Insert the straw in the top of the cable – where the cable goes into the outside lining. Apply the lube in the outside lining of the bottom cable and work the cable back and forth. This allows the lube to move down the cable and prevent moisture or anything that is in the cable from staying there.

Apply the Seafoam to the outside lining of the upper cable as well, and work the cable back and forth again, allowing the lube proper penetration down the cable shaft.

Again, regular maintenance is beneficial and results in a long-lasting walk behind lawn mower. If you’re not a do-it-yourself-er, feel free to bring your lawn mower to us and we’ll perform the necessary maintenance.
