Billy Goat and Little Wonder push blowers are designed with powerful engines that deliver excellent power for productive landscaping and other professional cleanup jobs. With more air volume than backpack blowers, these machines round up lawn debris in a snap. We carry a variety of blowers; each model is designed for maximum performance and efficiency. Weingartz experts compare Billy Goat and Little Wonder models, so you’ll know which is the right one for you.
Little Wonder Walk Behind Blowers
The larger housing LB Optimax blowers are the ones that commercial guys will be using. They all have either seven or nine blade steel impellers that are housed in steel housing so they’re extremely durable and can take a lot of abuse.
The top of the frame has welded strap handles so you can ratchet them down in a trailer or a truck and they won’t bounce around and damage the blower or the other equipment in the vehicle. Also, a lift handle is integrated on the outside of the housing for those that must transport these blowers in the back of trucks. Whether it be a pickup or a dump truck, the lift handle makes it much easier to get that heavy machine in and out of the back of a vehicle.
Little Wonder Optimax models have a spring-loaded diverter on the discharge of the blower that allows you to go from front or side discharge for your airflow depending on the conditions. The operator can handle the remote chute deflection from the back and there’s a split screen diverter which helps to keep that backflow down when you’re moving big piles of leaves so, they don’t come blowing back at the operator. The handles are adjustable for height, depending on the operator, and the handles are padded with foam to help absorb a lot of the vibration that happens with these machines.
The Optimax series is available in push as well as self-propelled models. The self-propelled models are great for extreme hilly conditions, both up and down hills that can be very fatiguing to the operator. We recommend you come into one of our store locations and check out the self-propel because they are chain driven with a sprocket to the wheels to the transmission, so they don’t freewheel quite as well.
Again, in extremely hilly conditions these blowers are fantastic and really cut down on fatigue, but you should make sure that you have the jobs to justify that self-propel feature because otherwise the machines don’t freewheel as well as a push model.
Engine options available on the Little Wonder Optimax series are going to be the Honda GX which is the best commercial grade you can get and, in our opinion, the best four-cycle engine out there. Other engine options include Kohler and, on larger machines, V-twin Briggs Vanguard engines.
One other thing to mention that’s real popular on these Optimax is a swivel wheel kit which is going to replace the front caster wheel. That’s going to make maneuvering these machines much easier without having to lift that caster wheel up off the ground.
Billy Goat Walk Behind and Stand On Blowers
Billy Goat offers a range of different products, ranging from six horsepower which is going to be ideal for your residential or prosumer all the way up to your commercial unit. There is a round housing present on some models that is made of an advanced composite material. This material won’t dent, or rust and they guarantee it on most models for five years. The inside also has a 16 fan blade which is made out of the same advanced composite material that the outside housing is made of.
Billy Goat’s patented aim and shoot feature is fingertip controlled and depending on the job you may want to lock the chute in, and you can lock it in right up top. You can lock that in while you’re on your job and you don’t have to continue to hold that control and if you want to take it off all you do is just pull the handle, simple and easy to use.
Billy Goat offers a variety of different engines starting from Briggs and Stratton six horsepower. On the nine horsepower model, there’s a Honda engine. That’s going to be 3.8 times the strength of a backpack blower and as you go up, you’re going to get larger horsepower, 10 horsepower, 13 horsepower and 18 horsepower.
The 10, 13 and 18 horsepower models also offer a self-propelled option. The 13 horsepower model is self-propelled and does freewheel when you move it back and forth so if you’re not using the self-propelled option it is still convenient to move around and easy to use. Controls for self-propelled models are located at the top of the machine handle. There’s a handle and all you have to do is just pull down on it and you’re good to go. That’s going to engage your self-propelled feature and make it a lot easier and more convenient to use on large properties.
Most Billy Goat models offer a deflector which you can mount on the blower itself to direct the airflow to the front. With this deflector, not only are you blowing to the side but if you need that front airflow for your job you can attach the deflector, and it’s simple and easy to unmount. There’s also a nice mounting slot on the right-hand side so when you’re not using the deflector, it can be stored there on the side.
Billy Goat’s lineup includes a variety of different options for the blower as well. They have a front caster unit that you can put on the front. That way you’re not having to lift the unit up and down. You can set it down and maneuver it nice and easy on that caster wheel.
They also offer a parking brake for each unit so if it is on a trailer and you want a parking brake that is an option that you can add.
