There are a number of different bagging options available for Exmark zero turn riders starting with a little side bagger. This is a not large capacity but what’s nice is it’s quick and easy to take on and off, and very inexpensive.
When you start with a mounting plate, there are different holes depending on the size of your deck. You set that, and once that’s done, you’re good to go and it basically just mounts on a peg, swings over with the catch on the front to attach and then the bagger just slips on and locks into place. The small side bagger does a terrific job, and really packs the grass and leaves in there tight. Due to its small size, this is very popular on walk behinds, but it can be used on riding mowers as well.
Power assist baggers are just dump bag systems and there are two different sizes depending on the size of your mower deck. One bagger supports a 48- or 52-inch deck and the other bagger works with 60-inch mower decks. The 60-inch bagger is much larger capacity. You need the larger platform to be able to carry the weight of the higher capacity bagger. It’s a very compact design and very easy to operate.
The quick dump bagger is exactly that. To dump the bagger, you just pull a lever on the side right from the seat, so you never have to get up off the mower. If you’re dumping it into a field or if you’re dumping it on a tarp to pull on your trailer this is an excellent bagging option.
All power assist baggers feature a belt drive off the outside mower spindle so there’s not a separate engine to worry about maintenance and it’s basically just pumping in the air through. The grass enters the blower but you’re not processing the grass. It doesn’t pull nearly as much horsepower as the machines where the grass and leaves run through the impeller. So, power assist baggers pump the air through and do an exceptional job picking up grass even if it’s a little bit damp, it does an exceptional job without plugging.
The last bagger options are a triple bagger and double bagger. These use the same power assist system, the blower on the deck, but these bagging systems are for your larger decks. Your 60- or 72-inch deck will use a triple bag and your 48 and 52 will use a two bag.
These come in handy if you want to take it and move it to wherever you’re dumping. These bags just pop out so you can dump the debris and load back in place and then you just have a couple straps to lock it back down and you’re out bagging. So, depending on the type of application, whether you want to quick dump or the triple bagger, but they both use the same blower so it’s really a matter of personal preference how you want to remove the debris.
Whichever bagger you use you’ll notice it comes with a counterweight kit because of the additional weight of the bagger you need stability to hold the front end of your mower down. The counterweight kits are easily removed with just a pin. The bagger can be easily removed with a pin as well and these.
