RedMax Stick Edgers are basically a string trimmer with a natural blade on the bottom. There are different models, either curved shaft or straight shaft.
The advantage that you have with the straight shaft is it’s more durable with a steel shaft coming down through a heavier duty gearbox. It gives you more torque down to the cutting head to give you more power for those tougher edging applications. But the big advantage over the old conventional wheel edgers is it’s very fast and maneuverable. The two-cycle engine suspends at a very high rpm, so the blades spin very fast.
RedMax Stick Edgers are also easier to use from a standpoint doing curves, you give more flexibility that’s tough to do with the wheeled edger. You can also use these machines for things like flower beds. You can put the wheel right on the grass and edge around your flower beds.
RedMax Stick Edgers are very versatile and very fast. If you have some of those tougher applications or maybe the wheel edgers do have more power, stick edgers will get the job done. These edgers will still get through grass, you might just have to go back and forth to get through that first heavy edge. But once that first edge is done it’s quick, you can walk at a pretty good pace and do a quick job with these Stick Edgers. They’re available on all different engine configurations depending on your application. It’s really a great way to edge fast and quick and it does an excellent job.
