Stihl Power Washers

The Stihl line of power washers includes a variety of different models. The RE 90 is one of their entry models, and it’s an electric unit. This is 1800 psi and is designed for light cleaning. Electric models are great for light cleaning, they’re convenient, and you don’t have to deal with the gas, but you just don’t get the power like you do with the larger units.

As you move up to the start of the gas line, the RB 200 features a 2500 psi at 2.7 gallons per minute. The pressure is important but if you don’t have the water, the gallons per minute, it doesn’t do any cleaning so a combination of both is what’s important. For household work, this is a great washer, it gives you plenty of pressure and enough water to get the job done.

As you move up in the line, the RB 400 is a little more of a professional unit. With this model you get into a heavier duty pump with a brass pump head for durability. You go to 2700 psi at 2.7 gallons per minute, so this is a nice step up. It’s still very cost effective for the homeowner and it’s going to be something that will last you a lot longer, get the job done a little bit quicker. When you go into these units, you’ll see there’s heavier guns, heavier nozzles and these have the quick detach nozzles so depending on what you’re cleaning they have a snap in collar so you can change your nozzles quickly.

There’s a chart on the back of the pressure washers that defines the different degrees for the nozzles. For instance, on the back of the RB 400, yellow is a 15 degree. This would be a sharp point, so you won’t want to use this on wood. It penetrates right through the wood but for heavy cleaning you’d want the sharper point and the points go up to 65 degrees, which is what you’d use if you’re spraying detergent and don’t want a lot of pressure to just blast the detergent off. Again, there are different nozzles depending on the application.

The RB 400 comes with a suction line so you can run your suction line right into the detergent bottle and it’ll draw from the pump which makes the job easy. The pressure is great but if you get some detergents made for certain applications it just makes the job easier. There’s a deck and house wash so you spray the deck down before, let it soak in a little bit, and that’ll help speed up the process. For heavy degreasing on equipment, the greaser does a great job of kind of breaking up to the grease.

There are a lot of other accessories to help the job get done quicker and easier. As you move up the line, the power washer goes to a 3200 psi with the RB 600. It goes up to 3 gallons per minute. This is a great all-around unit. We sell a lot of these to some of the commercial users for cleaning their equipment. It’s a nice step up, still a nice compact unit, and it does an excellent job.

For professionals doing power washing, the RB 800 is a monster. This is 4200 psi, 4 gallons per minute, and still a nice compact frame which makes it very easy to move around for a big power washer. The leverage is nice so for your heavy cleaning task or if you just want to get the job done quicker you’ve got more pressure and more gallonage with this machine. This would be the top of the Stihl line.
