Toro Power Clear Single Stage Snow Blowers

The Toro line of single stage power clear snow blowers starts with the 518. The 518 is a great compact little blower, it is very lightweight for those smaller driveways. If you do not have a lot of storage space, the handles on the 518 models fold easy, which makes the blower easy to put away. The 518 still has all the same clearing technologies as larger machines.

For 2019, Toro has redesigned the single stage power clear snow blowers. They feature a lot of the same features that give them the great performance you are used to with the Toro, but we will highlight some of the nice changes Toro made to the new lineup. The engine is out in the open and gives the machines easier access for your maintenance items.

All Toro snow blowers have the single handle bail control to engage the self-propel, either the chute control by reaching over with the deflector or the quick chute quick switch which is a very popular option.

Something unique to Toro is their patented power clear system. Looking at the auger, it’s one big scoop with the V-shape so it works hard when you get into that heavy wet snow. It delivers great performance. You do not get the plugging up like you do with a lot of snow blowers in this class.

Another nice feature is the patented spring-loaded scraper system. What that system allows you to do, it cleans down to the pavement extremely well, but it also gives the paddle constant contact with the cement, so it gives it a power propelling system. It works like a wheel to pull the machine along.

Toro has used their 212 cc engine for years, it’s been a great powerplant. It really does a great job for most applications but for the new models Toro is offering optional models with 252 cc which has been on some of their larger two stage snow blowers. This is another nice enhancement for the 2019 lineup. If you’re in some heavy snow areas or you just want that extra power, Toro gives you the option to upgrade to the 252 cc but still have the compact design.
