Stihl offers three different backpack sprayer models to meet your outdoor maintenance needs, the SR 200, SR 430, and SR 450. The models look very similar to a backpack blower, and that’s actually how they started, as a backpack.
The SR 200 is the smallest of the models. The smaller sprayer works well for smaller jobs and will spray about 29 feet horizontally and about 18 feet vertically, so if you’re spraying for mosquitoes this is a great tool. It’s easy to use with a one-hand joystick-style control handle and provides excellent control over rate and range of spray. If you don’t need to get real high for spraying your shrubs, your shrub beds, or spraying the lawn, the SR 200 does a fantastic job.
The SR 430 is the most popular backpack sprayer, designed with considerably more volume. This model will spray a little bit higher, so you get about 48 feet of height so it’s great for spraying trees, spraying for mosquitoes, or spraying any kind of insecticides. If you’re a professional user that needs to get the job done quicker, this will spray further horizontally and vertically, allowing you to do tree work.
This powerful, fuel-efficient, liquid-only backpack sprayer is a great choice for large property applications. The SR 430 delivers a large spraying range, reducing the time it takes to treat large areas. Its high-performance pressure pump provides a constant flow of product, regardless of the spray angle.
The SR 450 is really the same unit as the 430 but this will have the capability for dusting applications. This backpack sprayer/duster is ideal for distributing liquid or solid compounds and converts from misting to dusting applications without any additional tools or equipment.
