The Weingartz 7 Year Enhanced Protection Plan (7YEPP) is a service plan that’s available to all our customers when they purchase residential walk behind lawn mowers and residential zero turns, lawn tractors, snow blowers and generators from Weingartz.
This is a pay-as-you-go program, not a plan you prepay for. The 7YEPP is not something you’re obligated to enroll in, but it is available to all customers upon purchase.
Details of our protection plan:
When you purchase a piece of equipment from Weingartz, you will get invoiced and, on that invoice, you will have a line item that says 7YEPP. You’ll notice it has a charge of zero dollars.
You’ll also receive a little bifold that explains the program, and inside of that you’ll receive a card that explains how your service plan works, price breakdown, and services provided, which will be specific to the product that you purchased.
There’s also a schedule of payment based on year, so you’ll see years one through seven and you’ll see a column for in-store service and a column for transportation included. You can either bring your machine in to us to have this service done or we can come pick it up and bring it back to you. One thing you need to be aware of is that this transportation service is provided to customers located within 30 miles of any of our store locations.
In addition to the list of all service items that we’re going to take care of, there’s a couple items listed that are not included and those would be wear items like blades or batteries.
In the 7YEPP program, at the end of the first year you’ll bring your machine in for service. Again, all the parts and labor you’ll receive is listed in the pamphlet when you sign up. At the end of the second year, you’ll bring your machine in for the same routine, you’ll notice the price increases each year by ten dollars until you get to a certain point where it will increase by twenty dollars. Overall, the idea is to bring your equipment in for service year after year (for 7 years) to maintain an active status in the program.
The main benefit of the 7 Year Enhanced Protection Plan is it’s not an extended warranty. An extended warranty is something you pay for in advance and you may or may not use it. This is what’s exclusive to this Weingartz program. You won’t find anything like this in any other box store or any other outdoor power equipment dealer.
The 7YEPP is a plan where we provide the service, we perform the service, and by getting the service every year we are going to continue to cover the equipment under warranty. 
A lot of times customers ask, “what’s different from me buying this LT42 from you or buying it from Home Depot?”
The obvious difference is Weingartz will service it, but we will service it even if you bought it at Home Depot. The big difference is you cannot get this protection plan unless you purchase from Weingartz.
On riding mowers, we have a lot of customers who don’t want to do service but want the added protection, so this makes a lot of sense based on the investment you’re putting into these lawn tractors and zero turns. These machines are a little bit of an investment so to take care of them and to have that extended coverage is very appealing to a lot of our customers.
Also, it’s important to point out that when you are in this plan, you will always continue to receive priority service.
Again, this plan is specific to Weingartz, and only applies to products that are purchased at Weingartz. This is a simple program, and we track your status, so you don’t need to come in and request it every year. We even send service reminders to you yearly to help maintain your active status.
