Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) Mowers
An innovative piece of technology that Exmark has incorporated in their mowers is EFI. Mowers designed with EFI essentially eliminate governor droop to maintain engine RPM and blade speed. These machines continue to operate at high performance while using less fuel regardless of terrain or mowing conditions.
Traditional carburetors approximate the ratio of fuel to air, but Exmark EFI mowers operate by using pressurized injectors to spray exact amounts of fuel into the air system resulting in increased performance and efficiency. EFI has been tested to improve efficiency by up to 25% over traditional carburetors.
RED Technology
RED Technology is another piece of great technology Exmark incorporated into their mowers. This patented technology enables communication among key systems on your mower with defined operation modes, system monitoring and clutch saver features. This technology results in enhanced machine efficiency, performance, and fuel efficiency.
The RED control module includes an LCD display screen with three multi-function buttons that allow you to navigate through the menu screens or choose from three defined operating (RPM) modes – Low, Efficient, and Max mode.
Low Mode allows optimal performance in wet and damp conditions. This mode delivers plenty of power with lower blade tip speeds, reliable performance, and the lowest fuel consumption.
Efficient Mode provides maximum performance while reducing noise, fuel consumption, and helping protect against machine wear and tear. This mode provides maximum efficiency under normal mowing conditions.
Max Mode maintains RPM and provides maximum power, speed, and fuel consumption for operating in tough and demanding conditions. This mode delivers extended power to work through thick, tall grass and steep slopes.
RED Technology also allows users to choose from six customizable engine speed set points. This easily allows you to switch between different power levels without interrupting the power and pace of the mower.
RED Technology also includes system monitoring functions which enable drivers to track oil levels, engine temperature, overall electrical system, and more. If critical engine or system issues are detected, users can put their Exmark mower into ‘Safe Transport Mode’ to ensure the machine can be returned safely for servicing. The system will also alert users with a visual warning of critical system issues.
Exmark EFI Mowers and RED Technology
Select Exmark zero turn riders that are available with EFI include Lazer Z E-Series, S-Series and X-Series mowers, and Navigator residential mowers.
Exmark Turf Tracer S-Series and X-Series are a great option for commercial operations that require a walk behind with EFI.
RED Technology is available on all Lazer Z Diesel models and select Lazer Z S-Series and X-Series models.
