This can reduce the traction and alignment of your mower. Luckily, replacing the <a href=\"https:\/\/weingartz.com\/124085\/Category\/Wheels\">caster\u00a0wheel<\/a> is an easy task so follow on experts\u2019 instructions to get the job done in no time.<\/p>\n<p>Before performing any maintenance on your lawn mower, refer to your owner\u2019s manual for maintenance instructions and safety information. Maintenance instructions vary by model, so depending on your lawn mower model our instructions may vary slightly.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6t8xJZgECYg\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Before changing the caster wheels on your lawn mower, please abide by these safety precautions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shut off the engine<\/li>\n<li>Allow the engine to become cool to the touch<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To carry out this task, you\u2019ll need these tools:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Piece of wood<\/li>\n<li>New caster wheel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To change the front wheels on a <a href=\"https:\/\/weingartz.com\/Cub-Cadet-Walk-Behind-Lawn-Mowers\">Cub Cadet lawn mower<\/a>, place the piece of wood underneath the front of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cubcadet.com\/equipment\/cubcadet\">mower <\/a>to prop it up. There are <a href=\"https:\/\/weingartz.com\/124085\/Category\/Wheels\">caster wheels<\/a> on the front of the <a href=\"https:\/\/weingartz.com\/Cub-Cadet-Walk-Behind-Lawn-Mowers\">mower<\/a>, and there is a wing nut on the caster wheels that allow you to remove the <a href=\"https:\/\/weingartz.com\/124085\/Category\/Wheels\">wheel <\/a>and adjust the height.<\/p>\n<p>To remove the caster\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/weingartz.com\/124085\/Category\/Wheels\">wheel<\/a>, turn the wing nut to the left and remove the bolt. Allow the wheel to drop out at the bottom. Remember which setting the <a href=\"https:\/\/weingartz.com\/124085\/Category\/Wheels\">wheel <\/a>was at, if that\u2019s where you want your <a href=\"https:\/\/weingartz.com\/Cub-Cadet-Walk-Behind-Lawn-Mowers\">machine <\/a>to mow at when you put the caster\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/weingartz.com\/124085\/Category\/Wheels\">wheel <\/a>back on.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Take your new caster\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/weingartz.com\/124085\/Category\/Wheels\">wheel<\/a>, place it back in and replace the nut and bolt.<\/p>\n<p>To replace the bolt, there is a shoulder on the bolt. Place that on the side with the square holes. If you marked or remembered which hole you wanted the <a href=\"https:\/\/weingartz.com\/Cub-Cadet-Walk-Behind-Lawn-Mowers\">machine <\/a>height to be on, raise the <a href=\"https:\/\/weingartz.com\/124085\/Category\/Wheels\">wheel <\/a>to that height and press the bolt through. Make sure you line up the carriage bolt with the square holes in the actual arm.<\/p>\n<p>Replace your wing nut and make sure it\u2019s tight.
