It\u2019s important to maintain your John Deere mower<\/a> to ensure that it operates smoothly for years. Change the oil, air filter, blades, etc. on a regular basis to expand the lifespan of your machine. John Deere has a simple way to change the oil in your tractor with the Easy Change 30-Second Oil Change System. This system allows you to change your oil by twisting on a new cartridge that contains both the oil and the filter. This means no engine oil drainage is required.<\/p>\n

The John Deere Easy Change 30-Second Oil Change System is available on select John Deere E 100 Series tractors<\/a> \u2013 E120<\/a>, E130<\/a>, E150<\/a>, E160<\/a>, E170 <\/a>and E180<\/a>. Here are the steps required to use the John Deere Easy Change 30-Second Oil Change System:<\/p>\n

1. Before performing any maintenance on your John Deere tractor<\/a>3, refer to your owner\u2019s manual for recommended maintenance and safety information. Maintenance instructions vary by model, so depending on your mower model our instructions may vary slightly. Check your owner\u2019s manual to get instructions specific to your model, including information about the recommended oil type.<\/p>\n

2. To begin, park your mower on a flat, level surface. Turn the engine off and allow it to cool, remove the ignition key, and disconnect the spark plug ignition wire to prevent accidental starting. Lower the mower deck and ensure that the engine is cool before you change your oil. Open the hood of your John Deere tractor<\/a>.<\/p>\n

3. Unbox the John Deere Easy Change oil filter. Write your service date and hours on the filter before you install it. Take off the rubber cap and then remove the old oil filter. To remove the filter, push and rotate the canister 90 degrees counterclockwise. When it\u2019s loose, turn it to an upright position.<\/p>\n

4. Install the new canister. Line up the lock symbol on the canister with the unlock symbol on the engine and rotate the canister 90 degrees clockwise. Listen for a clicking sound to verify that your canister is properly installed and verify that the lock symbols are aligned.<\/p>\n

5. Check the oil level using the dip stick and add more oil if necessary. Reconnect the spark plug wire and run your mower on idle to check for any leaks.<\/p>\n
