Let\u2019s talk about grass\u00a0collection systems, or baggers<\/a>. We\u2019ve got a few different\u00a0options available, and we\u2019ll walk through\u00a0some of the different features and benefits.<\/p>\n

Zero Turn Riders<\/strong><\/p>\n

Different zero turn riders have different grass\u00a0collection systems<\/a>, but all\u00a0of them will have a front counterweight.\u00a0\u00a0A counterweight\u2019s role is to add weight\u00a0to the front end of your machine. As your\u00a0bag is filling up you have more weight in the\u00a0back, making the front-end lighter which makes\u00a0for an unsafe condition. Thus, the counterweight is\u00a0extremely important.<\/p>\n

These weights are very\u00a0easy to take on and off. All counterweights are quick detach and some have\u00a0pins or a couple bolts so you can take that weight off\u00a0when you’re not using the bagger<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Zero turn riders<\/a> require counterweight because there is more weight on the rear of the machine due to the engine, versus lawn tractors which have\u00a0more weight on the front. Like the weights, baggers <\/a>are very\u00a0easy to take on and off as well.<\/p>\n

Cub Cadet two bag systems<\/a> have a flip up and some have a nice\u00a0little site door so you can look from the\u00a0driver’s seat to see if it’s full. The bags\u00a0will slide out very easily when it\u2019s time for dumping them.<\/p>\n

Depending on the unit, the mower can have a two-bag<\/a> or three-bag system<\/a>. The three-bag system is typically found on your larger mower\u00a0decks. The larger mower decks have more capacity\u00a0so the two-bag system will fill up quicker, so\u00a0typically on the 48 inch or larger decks you’ll\u00a0see a three-bag system to pick up 50% more capacity.\u00a0Cub Cadet<\/a> offers\u00a0three bag systems on their larger decks.<\/p>\n

Most brands\u00a0will have two or three bag configurations.<\/p>\n

All\u00a0mowers discussed will feature counterweights, and easy on and off baggers<\/a>, including Toro zero turn riders. Toro mowers use a weight system\u00a0with twin bagger systems<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lawn Tractors<\/strong><\/p>\n

Like zero turns, different tractors <\/a>have different baggers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cub Cadet tractors<\/a> support two bag systems<\/a>, which are\u00a0very similar to what you’d find\u00a0on the 42-inch zero turn model, and three bag systems<\/a>. For doing your fall\u00a0cleanups, baggers are a great tool and save a lot of time and effort.<\/p>\n

Something relatively new from Cub Cadet is a 25-bushel capacity so, depending\u00a0on the model, in comparison to the 23 bag, this will\u00a0give you a 2 \u00bd to 3 \u00bd times the capacity of typical grass collection systems<\/a>. This is really designed more for that leaf cleanup\u00a0so if you’re picking up leaves, those bags will\u00a0fill up fairly quick. This is a much higher\u00a0capacity and what’s nice is it just attaches to the Cub Cadet cart. However, this will also fit some of the other popular brand\u00a0carts like carts made from Ohio Steel or Brinley\u00a0Hardy company.<\/p>\n

You can buy the cart, or\u00a0you can buy a cart with the bagger <\/a>and have a dump cart to use you know for doing other yard tasks. You can\u00a0easily remove the top and have a\u00a0conventional dump cart. So, for doing those bigger\u00a0jobs you get the bigger capacity and then you also have\u00a0a dump cart so it’s another great nice tool\u00a0from Cub Cadet.<\/p>\n
