Let\u2019s discuss the nine\u00a0foot two stainless DXT plow<\/a> to give you a\u00a0sense of how to take the plow off and put it back\u00a0on, go over those steps with you step by step and ultimately give you a good idea of how to do\u00a0this if you are an end user at home, at the shop,\u00a0or on site and need a little bit more information on\u00a0that.<\/p>\n First, take that truck and make sure it is in the on and\u00a0running position. It keeps the engine going, makes that battery run at full power and allows\u00a0you to control the plow without worrying about\u00a0draining the battery, especially in colder temps.<\/p>\n Turn your controller to the on position and then,\u00a0both on a straight and a V blade plow, that center\u00a0button for up down, double tap\u00a0that to put it into float mode. It is\u00a0going to illuminate that button to red\u00a0and let you know that you’re ready to go to\u00a0the front of the truck and do the plow disconnect.<\/p>\n On all Boss plows<\/a>, V or straight blade, the smart\u00a0hitch system is identical. The first step on the\u00a0outside of the truck is to take those levers\u00a0and flip them both to the outside. Occasionally you get that pin to pop out automatically. Do the same thing on the driver’s side.<\/p>\n Once both levers are flipped out, take the\u00a0hydraulic control lever on the outside, go\u00a0up first to release tension on that pin.\u00a0It will naturally pop out because it is under\u00a0spring tension and then go down with\u00a0the hydraulics to lower that light beam. At that point you are ready to do the disconnect\u00a0on the electronics.<\/p>\n On your wiring,\u00a0you’ve got a 13-pin plow and truck\u00a0harness as well as your power ground. Shake those loose and disconnect\u00a0them and then each one will have its own\u00a0set of dust caps to keep any\u00a0debris and dirt out. Same thing with the 13-pin\u00a0harness. Wiggle that one loose,\u00a0cap this one and then that will\u00a0set you free from the plow <\/a>itself.<\/p>\n The truck side harness also has matching caps\u00a0so cap this, especially for the road driving, and\u00a0then at that point you can back the truck away\u00a0and go about your business without the plow<\/a>.<\/p>\n When reconnecting the plow <\/a>to the\u00a0truck it is just the opposite of disconnecting it.\u00a0The truck will be on because you’ve\u00a0driven into that plow.\u00a0The controller should be plugged in, on, and\u00a0in-float mode just like it was to take the plow\u00a0off so make sure that center button is red and\u00a0illuminated. Hop out of that truck and\u00a0then make some connections in the front.<\/p>\n First\u00a0thing would be your power ground and your 13\u00a0pin. Get all those nice and secure so that\u00a0everything is flowing to the plow <\/a>and then your\u00a0next step would be those locking pins. You are\u00a0going to flip these couplers to the inside now, which is going to allow this to lock in when you\u00a0override it with the hydraulics on the front.<\/p>\n With that hydraulic lever pushed up those\u00a0pins will pop and lock everything into that\u00a0undercarriage and allow you to safely back away\u00a0with that plow in the upright position and go\u00a0to work.
