With a reinforced fabricated deck, tougher tires, and a fully adjustable high-back seat with armrests, the Cub Cadet Ultima ZT2 Series<\/a> of zero turn riders provides you with the ultimate all-around mowing experience. However, if you do not change the fuel filter<\/a> in your machine regularly you can kiss that ultimate mowing experience goodbye.<\/p>\n

There are many benefits to changing the fuel filter<\/a> in your Cub Cadet<\/a>. A fuel filter<\/a> is designed to properly strain the gas before it reaches the carburetor in your lawn mower. Fuel filter<\/a> replacement is important because it prevents particles from clogging your engine.<\/p>\n

Before performing any maintenance on your Cub Cadet Ultima ZT2<\/a>, refer to your owner\u2019s manual for recommended maintenance and safety information. Maintenance instructions vary by model, so depending on your riding lawn mower model our instructions may vary slightly. Check your owner\u2019s manual to get instructions specific to your model.<\/p>\n

We are changing the fuel filter<\/a> and the Cub Cadet Ultima\u00a0ZT2<\/a> with the Kawasaki FR691V. Begin by placing a couple of rags down on\u00a0the engine bay to soak up any fuel that you\u00a0take out. Use a pair of fuel line crimps. Put these on so the engine does not leak\u00a0any fuel out. You are going to get a little bit of fuel,\u00a0what comes out of the filter<\/a>. We are not draining the line.<\/p>\n

Use a pair\u00a0of pliers to take the fuel line\u00a0clamps and just move them up the fuel line. Just give the fuel filter<\/a>\u00a0a little twist to bring it loose. Do the same thing on top and properly dispose of the old fuel filter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We are using the Kawasaki\u00a0replacement filter that can be\u00a0found at any Weingartz stores or on weingartz.com. On the filter <\/a>itself, it does have a flow\u00a0direction for which way you want it to go. It should go\u00a0towards the carburetor. Right on the\u00a0side there is a little arrow that says \u201cflow,\u201d\u00a0that will go towards the carb. Reinstall the filter <\/a>and reinstall the clamps. Make sure you\u2019re properly seated, remove\u00a0the rags, start your machine, test and that’s all.<\/p>\n
