If so, there\u2019s a chance that the spark plugs are the issue. <a href=\"https:\/\/weingartz.com\/C\/124065\/Spark-Plugs\">Spark plugs<\/a> that are in good condition will ensure that your mower has less trouble starting. We suggest changing your spark plugs every spring. Here\u2019s how to change the <a href=\"https:\/\/weingartz.com\/C\/124065\/Spark-Plugs\">spark plugs<\/a> on a Toro zero turn rider.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YzEGOLAeIBs\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Before performing any maintenance on your <a href=\"https:\/\/weingartz.com\/Toro-Zero-Turn-Riders\">Toro zero turn rider<\/a>, refer to your owner\u2019s manual for recommended maintenance and safety information. Maintenance instructions vary by model, so depending on the model of your zero turn, our instructions may vary slightly. Check your owner\u2019s manual to get instructions specific to your model.<\/p>\n<p>Park your mower on a flat, level surface. Turn the engine off and allow it to cool. Remove the ignition key and disconnect the spark plug ignition wire to prevent accidental starting. Engage the parking brake.<\/p>\n<p>What you\u2019ll need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Replacement spark plugs<\/li>\n<li>13\/16 in socket<\/li>\n<li>Ratchet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pull\u00a0the spark plug boot out of the way, loosen up the spark plug, and change it out for the new one. For these <a href=\"https:\/\/weingartz.com\/C\/124065\/Spark-Plugs\">spark plugs<\/a>, Toro recommends 0.28 of\u00a0a gap in between the spark plug electrode and the\u00a0top.<\/p>\n<p>Thread the spark plug in by hand. Use the ratchet to tighten it down until snug, then give it a quarter turn more to give it proper torque. Reinstall the spark\u00a0plug boot replace the spark plug o the other side.<\/p>\n<p>Same thing on the other side. Pull the\u00a0spark plug boot off, push it to the side, and take the spark plug out. Change\u00a0out the spark plug,\u00a0make sure it&#8217;s properly gapped\u00a0and thread it back in by hand.
