About Weingartz

Since 1945, Weingartz has helped homeowners and professionals across Michigan choose, use, and maintain outdoor power equipment with confidence. As a fourth-generation, family-owned business, Weingartz has built its reputation by focusing on long-term relationships with customers, employees, and the communities we serve. Today, we operate multiple locations across the state, offering a carefully selected lineup of the brands we trust and stand behind. All supported by experienced teams, deep inventory, and full-service capabilities. But what truly defines Weingartz isn’t just what we sell. It’s how we approach every customer interaction.

The Weingartz Way

At Weingartz, we believe owning outdoor power equipment should be straightforward—from the moment you choose it to years down the road. That means helping you make the right decision upfront, making sure you have what you need when you need it, and standing behind your equipment long after the sale. It’s a simple idea, but it shapes everything we do. That's THE WEINGARTZ WAY.

What That Means For You

When you walk into a Weingartz store, the goal isn’t just to sell you equipment. It’s to make sure you’re set up with something that actually fits your property, your needs, and how you want your lawn to look. That starts with asking the right questions and guiding you through your options, so you don’t end up with the wrong equipment. From there it’s about making ownership easier, whether that’s having the parts and accessories you need in stock, offering ongoing support, or helping you keep your equipment running the way it should season after season. Since we carefully select the brands we carry, you can have confidence knowing we stand behind everything we sell.

Our Story

Weingartz began in 1945 as a feed and farm supply store serving the families and farms surrounding Utica, Michigan. As the area evolved, so did the needs of our customers. What started with agricultural supplies gradually shifted toward outdoor power equipment, supporting a growing number of homeowners across suburban communities. By the 1970s, Weingartz had fully transitioned to focus exclusively on outdoor power equipment, laying the foundation for the business as it exists today.

In 1993, we expanded with a second location in Farmington Hills, introducing a new approach centered around the customer experience. Larger, more organized showrooms. Expanded inventory of equipment and parts. Dedicated service facilities staffed with experienced technicians.

That model continues to define every Weingartz location today, including Utica, Farmington Hills, Cedar Springs, Clarkston, Ann Arbor, and Livonia. Through each stage of growth, one thing has remained consistent: a commitment to giving customers honest answers, practical guidance, and long-term support.

Today, Weingartz serves customers across Michigan with:

  • A carefully selected lineup of leading outdoor power equipment brands
  • Deep inventory availability across equipment, parts, and accessories
  • Full-service departments staffed by experienced technicians
  • A team focused on helping customers make informed decisions

Whether you’re maintaining a residential lawn or managing a larger property, the goal is the same - to make sure you have the right equipment and the support to keep it performing.

Our Commitment

Weingartz has always been built on more than just equipment. We believe that how we treat people, our customers, our employees, and our community is just as important as the products we sell. That means:

  • Investing in our team so they have the knowledge and experience to guide customers the right way.
  • Creating an environment where employees take pride in their work and the relationships they build every day.
  • Staying actively involved in the communities we serve - from local partnerships to initiatives like our Hot Dog Saturdays, where we support organizations making a difference across Michigan.

Being part of the community isn’t something we talk about - it’s something we do.
